How do I check-in and register?
Race information pickup, along with race t-shirt and bib number for run-day identification, is on August 1st at the Post Office Pavilion in Coal Valley IL (more info will be emailed closer to the even regarding times). We do allow run-day registration for the 5K Adventure Fun Run, but not for the competitive heat. Those running in the competitive heats must pre-register online no later than Friday at 8:00 PM the day before the event. We prefer that everyone register online–the time savings is significant.
How early do I need to arrive the day of the event?
Plan to arrive 45-60 minutes before your heat so that you will have time to pick up your race information.
Will I get something to show I finished the run?
Medals will be awarded at the finish line when you complete the race.
Will there be a bag check?
We will not have a bag check as all parking will be relatively close to the main event area.
How old do I have to be to participate in the 5K Adventure Run?
You must be at least 12 years old to run the race. 12- and 15-year-olds should run with their parent or guardian.
Can I run the race barefoot? Do I need to wear a shirt?
Shoes and a shirt are required.
Will first aid be available if I get hurt at the event?
First Aid personnel will be on hand for minor injuries. Trinity Medical hospital is within 10 minutes of our location.
Will water be available on the course?
Water will be provided on the course.
Will water be available for clean-up after the event?
Yes, water will be provided for clean-up.
Should I bring anything with me to clean up after the event?
Bring a wash cloth and a towel.
Will restroom facilities be available at the event site?
Port-a-Potties will be available.
Can spectators come to the event?
There is a $7 charge for spectators. They are welcome to bring a lawn chair if they want.
Can I bring a camera and/or a video recorders to the event?
Yes, cameras and video records will be allowed.
Can I bring my pet with me?
Pets are not allowed.
